Little Subs Swim Academy is a purpose-driven swim school offering safe, patient, and individualized instruction specializing in neurodivergent learners while welcoming children of all abilities to build confidence and life-saving swim skills at their own pace.

Little Subs Swim Academy is led by Joseph, an Autism Swim®–Certified instructor with over 22 years of trained and competitive swimming experience. His expertise allows him to deliver safe, confidence-building instruction tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Joseph’s commitment to serving the neurodivergent community is rooted in personal experience with a close family member. This perspective shapes his calm, patient approach and helps create an environment where children feel supported, respected, and empowered to grow at their own pace.

1. Do you specialize in neurodivergent children?

2. What age groups do you accept?

We welcome children from 6 months to 9 years, with programs tailored to each developmental stage for balanced growth and learning.

3. Are instructors specially trained?

Yes. Our instructors are Autism Swim®–Certified and have extensive swimming and water safety experience along with adaptive instruction.

4. What makes Little Subs Swim Academy different from other swim schools?

Our lessons are sensory-aware, and led by Autism Swim®–Certified instructors who prioritize trust, emotional safety, and confidence before technique.

5. Are lessons one-on-one or group-based

We offer both one-on-one and small group lessons, with recommendations based on your child’s comfort level, learning style, and goals. Please see the Pricing section for further details.

6. What if my child is afraid of the water?

That’s completely okay. We move at your child’s pace, using calm transitions, encouragement, and trust-building strategies—never forcing participation.

7. How do you handle sensory sensitivities?

We intentionally create a low-stimulation environment with predictable routines and flexible instruction to accommodate sensory needs and reduce overwhelm.

8. How do you measure progress?

Progress is measured by comfort, confidence, safety awareness, and skill development—not by speed or comparison to others.

Absolutely. Parents are encouraged to observe and partner with us to ensure consistency, communication, and comfort for their child.
